- Drumpf's Transportation Department cancelled $679 million in funding for a dozen offshore wind projects?
- Drumpf's Department of Energy announced it is withdrawing a $716 million loan guarantee to complete infrastructure for an offshore wind project in New Jersey?
- Drumpf's Interior Department suddenly and without explanation stopped construction of a wind farm off the coast of Connecticut and Rhode Island that was 80% complete and was set to be finished early next year, capable of powering more than 350,000 homes?
The production of coal peaked way back in 2008. Between then and 2021, employment in coal mining fell by almost 60% in the East and almost 40% in the West, while jobs related to the renewable energy sector grew at more than twice the rate of those in other sectors, increasing to 3.5 million workers by 2023.
Drumpf claims that relying on fossil fuels will jump-start the economy, but higher costs for electricity are already fueling inflation, and in the longer term, more expensive power will slow economic growth. Drumpf obviously does not have the intellectual capacity to understand the seriousness of ignoring the advice of experts in the fields of energy creation and use. Drumpf is the biggest fool that ever walked the earth.

Trump's tariffs are illegal!
The news media reported that yesterday the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, in a 7-4 decision, struck down many of Tangerine Tan Trump’s tariffs, saying he unlawfully leaned on emergency powers to impose the import taxes. The ruling dealt with five executive orders imposing tariffs “of unlimited duration on nearly all goods from nearly every country in the world,” as the court put it.
The International Emergency Economic Powers Act does not authorize tariffs like the ones Trump used the law for earlier this year, the Federal Circuit said in an unsigned opinion upholding a lower-court ruling against Trump’s tariffs. The judges rightfully noted that Trump’s unprecedented tariffs are an overstep of his power because the ability to impose taxes, including tariffs, is “a core Congressional power” that the Constitution grants to the legislative branch, and not to the president.
No shit!
“This decision protects American businesses and consumers from the uncertainty and harm caused by these unlawful tariffs,” said Jeffrey Schwab, director of litigation at the Liberty Justice Center.
The tariffs remain in place for now, however, after the court delayed implementation of its order until October, giving Trump time to file an appeal with the Supreme Court.
The tariff levies are a cornerstone of Trump's failed economic plan.

After I retired from the military, I had the honor of running the University of Texas system for several years. While I have stepped down from that particular job, I still teach a graduate course on national security decision-making at the University of Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs. As part of the course, the students have to role play members of the national security council and then I give them a challenging geopolitical scenario which they must solve.
For seven years now, we have had a Russia invasion scenario into the Baltics, a pandemic coming from South America, provocation by the North Koreans, Iranians and Chinese and a drone strike on a terrorist leader. But, before I ask them to solve these problems, I give them an intellectual framework for thinking about difficult decisions.
The framework is a series of questions. As the members of the President’s cabinet and the national security decision-makers--the first question they must answer is “Who Are We?” Who are we as a nation? Because, if we don’t know who we are as a nation, if we don’t understand our principles, our values, our strengths, our limitations and our aspirations, then all the decisions that follow-- will be flawed.
When I pose this question to the class—who are we as a nation, they give the usual responses. We are a democracy, a representative government, we believe in the rule of law, separation of powers, individual freedom, free speech and the right of assembly, human rights, and above all they recognize that the constitution is the law of the land.
But invariably someone will shout, “we are the good guys!”
Yes, we are the good guys. We are the guys who fought fascism and communism, totalitarianism and terrorism. We are the guys that rebuilt Europe and Japan after World War II. We are the guys that show up every time there is a natural disaster around the world.
We are the guys who provide aid and comfort to the weak and downtrodden. We are the guys that free the oppressed and stand up for the little guy. We are the good guys. We are Americans. That’s what we do.
Now, certainly we are not without our faults and many times in the course of American history we have embarked on self-serving crusades and military adventurism—but those times have paled in comparison to the good we have done in the world. Our values, our principles have been our north star, our guiding light in dealing with our own citizens and the rest of the world.
However, in February I attended the Munich Security Conference and the word I heard the most—from the rest of the world—was transactional. America has become transactional. We have told the world in no uncertain terms that we will only help if it is good for America; only if we get something in return for our assistance.
Now, every nation’s leader seeks to put their country first. That is how it should be. We should never be too naïve in our dealings with other countries. But, if the values that made us America are no longer important on the world stage, if we are only transactional, if we only care about the best deal we can get, then how will we differentiate ourselves from Russia or China?
If we are no longer the good guys, doing good in the world in hopes that it will improve the lives of our global citizens and thereby lift all humanity, then how will we inspire the youth of America to serve? Will we tell them that they are vital cogs in the business transaction? That their sacrifice got us a better deal at the bargaining table? If the words etched on the monuments and the facades of the great buildings are meaningless, where will we find our heroes?
If we don’t continue to represent hope for the world, then what kind of nation will we become?
In the forty years of my leadership journey, I have found that the great leaders, those with the most power, are also those who wield their influence with great ease and great compassion—making all those around them better. It is the same with nations. If we think that by being coercive to our neighbors, by leveraging our military, economic and diplomatic power against our friends, by strong-arming our allies—that it will make us a richer, more powerful, more respected country, we are mistaken.
When nations, like people, believe you are acting in good faith, for good reasons, they are more likely to trust you with their businesses, their human capital, their security and their lives. If they think you are only in it for self-serving purposes, then no amount of deal making will stand the test of time and when you need your friends and allies the most, they may not be there.
We are at a pivotal moment in our nation’s history. If two-hundred and fifty years of this American experiment have taught us anything, it is that nothing is guaranteed.
In his seminal work, Democracy in America, Alexis de Tocqueville talked about the dangers of democracy. He feared that in a democracy the majority could become oppressive, silencing the minority and enforcing conformity. He feared that without strong civic engagement, individuals might withdraw from public life leaving the power to the state. He feared that a powerful central government could erode individual freedoms. He feared that economic success and personal gain would come at the expense of civic engagement.
But he offered a solution. To guarantee that our democracy stayed strong we needed engaged citizens, independent institutions, a free press, an educated citizenry and a decentralized government.
But we also need something else to guarantee our democracy stays strong. We need courage.
We need the courage to speak up against intolerance and injustice. No American should live in fear of their government. We need the courage to defend free speech and the freedom of assembly. We need the courage to protect the rights of all Americans. We need the courage to safeguard human dignity at home and abroad. We need the courage to challenge those who would undermine free and fair elections. We need the courage to demand our representatives act in the nation’s best interests.
It’s time to find our courage and do what’s right. We cannot sit on the sidelines and watch this experiment in democracy falter or fail.
Jimmy Carter once said, “The experience of democracy is like the experience of life itself—always changing, infinite in its variety, sometimes turbulent and all the more valuable for having been tested—by adversity.”
Today, our democracy is being tested by adversity, but I know that we will prevail. Because I have great faith in the principles that formed this nation. I have great faith in the constitution and those that are charged with upholding it. And I have great faith in the American people.
And when we have passed that test and we are stronger as a nation—the world will once again look to America and say—those are the good guys.

Mock Trump at every opportunity!
"Trump is a president who is acting as if he has no limits. He is destroying constitutional guardrails and violating the norms of democracy almost daily. The question now is: How much damage can he do before he’s stopped?" (Charlie Sykes, MSNBC contributor and the author of the newsletter "To the Contrary").
TACO Trump has now said out loud what many have long feared: that he sees dictatorship not as an insult, but as a political brand. Twice in two days he has floated the baseless idea that Americans would prefer a dictator if it meant “stopping crime.” This is a classic authoritarian tactic: manufacture fear, exaggerate danger, and then present yourself as the only savior. Trump is not the savior; he's America's biggest problem to get rid of.
Crime is not spiraling out of control. What is spiraling is Trump's desperation, as his approval ratings sink and his failing economic policies drive up costs for ordinary families. Instead of funding proven methods like violence prevention and community policing, Trump is using armed soldiers to pick up garbage and spread mulch for “beautification projects” while manufacturing and stoking panic. Trump is testing us with how far he can go, daring us to accept the normalization of dictatorship. The question is not whether he is serious, the question is whether we are serious about stopping him.
We must mock Trump publicly at every opportunity. Public mockery is potent and effective against corrupt officials who exhibit traits of malignant narcissism and sociopathy. Dictators and demagogues crave admiration and react aggressively to anything that threatens their perceived superiority. These narcissistic individuals rely on public perception to fuel their self-image, and when that image is tarnished through ridicule and mockery, they often unravel, lashing out in ways that further damage their own credibility.
Fear is the primary tool of oppressive dictators and tyrants like Trump. However, when such leaders are mocked, their ability to intimidate crumbles. In the digital age, substacks, memes, viral videos, social media, and satirical news programs spread mockery faster than any authoritarian can suppress it. Public mockery is one of the most effective non-violent tools against corruption and tyranny, eroding the facades of the powerful, turning them from feared figures into objects of public scorn. When a leader is no longer respected or feared, his grip on power begins to loosen. So, mock Trump at every opportunity!

The National Guard will pick up trash in Washington, D.C.
That's right, folks. The Associated Press has reported that the National Guard will be picking up trash and raking leaves in Washington, D.C. — taxpayer dollars at work, compliments of maniacal Tangerine Trump — the National Guard-eners!
Crime has been down in Washington, D.C. — as a matter of fact, it's at a 30-year low — and there never was a national emergency there, except in dictator Trump's demented and altered state of reality, so there was never any need for the National Guard to be there in the first place. So now our taxpayer dollars are funding some of the highest paid "sanitation workers." How embarrassing!
There's a video on YouTube showing troops cleaning up an area around a trail. They were shown hauling several garbage bags. Combat ready! Combat proud! The eastern side of the Berlin Wall was also spotless!
This is part of Dementia Donnie's fiscal responsibility. It won't be long before Dementia Donnie will have the troops painting brown grass green!

Dementia Donnie tests Supreme Court ruling
In the 1989 Supreme Court case of Texas v. Johnson, the Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision that burning the flag is a form of symbolic speech protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution. In 1990, in the case of United States v. Eichman, the Supreme Court reaffirmed its decision in the Texas v. Johnson case, again finding that flag burning is protected expressive conduct — it is legal.
Yesterday, Dementia Donnie, the insurrectionist and the unhinged and mentally unfit lunatic in the Oval Office, signed another executive order, this one directing the Justice Department to pursue one year jail terms for people who “desecrate” the American flag — including by burning it — setting up a direct collision with these landmark Supreme Court rulings. Dementia Donnie's action even drew sharp backlash from longtime Republican conservatives.
The illegal executive order also aims to prosecute people who burn flags associated with other violence, such as inciting a riot, Trump said. (Note: a president does not have the authority to change the Constitution by way of executive orders, even if he claims he does. Period.) So, Little Donnie, what is the penalty for those inciting a riot, as you did on January 6, 2021, and for which you were impeached by the House of Representatives?

Is it time to arm ourselves?
Trump's incompetent Defense Secretary, Pete "Kegger" Hegseth, gave a directive last week that authorized members of the National Guard who were deployed as part of Dementia Donnie’s baseless anti-crime agenda in our nation’s capital, to begin carrying weapons. Read it loud and clear: the National Guard is now carrying weapons on American soil against American citizens. America is not at war on American soil. We're not in a national emergency, other than Trump's diversionary, fabricated one, created by Trump himself to take the focus off of his illicit involvement with Epstein. This is clearly a show of force in Trump's ongoing formation of a police state, the same tactic that Hitler used in the 1930's. Besides, how can anyone in either the National Guard or the military follow an order from draft dodger "President Bone Spurs" who never served in the military because he cheated and avoided the 1968 draft with a bogus medical deferment, as evidenced later by the diagnosing doctor's daughters claiming it was a favor to Dementia Donnie's father, with no actual spurs. Trump is a lying cheat.
The Second Amendment to our Constitution, adopted in 1791, gives citizens the right to keep and bear arms. The term "arms," as protected by the Second Amendment, is defined as any weapon of offense or defense that can be carried, including in public. The definition includes weapons used for offensive or defensive purposes, particularly for "confrontation," and the Supreme Court noted that the Second Amendment protects "arms, not firearms," citing other historical weapons like knives, bows, and arrows. Our founding founders viewed an armed citizenry as a safeguard against governmental overreach, which is exactly what we're seeing with Dementia Donnie's MAGA regime today. Donnie's goons are not there for the rightful purpose of defending American citizens, but as an explicit show of force to be used in confrontation against us if we don't kowtow to Donnie's autocratic demands — and we won't ever kowtow to a mentally deranged, cognitively declining, evil dictator.

On the night of April 18, 1775 British troops marched from Boston to Concord to seize colonial arms. These encounters marked the first armed conflict between British forces and colonial militias, solidifying the colonists resolve for independence against a tyrannical government. On their march back to Boston, the British forces were harassed and attacked by increasing numbers of colonial militiamen, suffering substantial casualties, leading to the formation of a large colonial militia that surrounded Boston, effectively placing the British garrison under siege.
Is it time to arm ourselves? Is our precious democracy being threatened to the point that the next Revolutionary War against an autocratic government is looming? Is this the start of the New American Revolution? You be your own judge instead of listening to and relying on the propaganda and the pundits, and act accordingly.

People with ASPD tend to be impulsive, deceitful, and disregard the needs and feelings of others. They tend to be highly manipulative, abusive, and power-hungry, and they feed off of negative energy. They also lack empathy and constantly seek love, adoration, and attention from others. This describes Trump, the MAGA cult leader, perfectly.
Sociopathic Warning Signs
- Do they lie a lot? Sociopaths use lying and deception to get their way.
- Is there a lack of understanding of right and wrong? Criminality is common among sociopaths because of an inability to distinguish right from wrong.
- Do they act impulsively? Sociopaths often act without consideration of the consequences. Risk-taking behaviors are common, including those that might cause physical, mental, or emotional harm to others.
- Are they insensitive and arrogant? These personality traits are common among sociopaths, in addition to being extremely manipulative.

- Are they selfish to an extreme degree? Anyone can behave selfishly from time to time, but selfishness is a hallmark characteristic of narcissistic sociopaths.
- Are they manipulative? Again, anyone can be manipulative, but narcissistic sociopaths typically elevate the manipulation to a different level.
- Are they overly concerned about how they appear to others? We all want to be liked and appreciated, but narcissistic sociopaths are obsessed with the appearance of being successful, loved, and admired.
- Do they not handle criticism well?
In addition, Trump is in serious cognitive decline. Dr. Jennifer R. Mercieca, professor of Communication and Journalism at Texas A&M University and the author of Demagogue for President: The Rhetorical Genius of Donald Trump, said “Trump's lack of focus makes it seem as though he’s experiencing cognitive decline, that his brain is not well-disciplined, and he’s unable to maintain a thought and carry it through to a logical conclusion.” In an attempt to cover up his cognitive decline, Trump has branded his speaking style with a cutesy cover-up name — "the weave" — and claims that experts in rhetoric believe it’s a good way to communicate. It's not. It's a sign of Trump's dementia.

Yesterday, MAGA Maggot Republicans in the Texas House of Representatives approved a new map redrawing congressional districts to switch five seats from Democratic control to Republican. Dementia Donnie demanded the new map because with popular support for his administration plummeting, he is worried about facing voters in the 2026 midterm elections; so Trump has to stack the deck and cheat in order to win.
Texas MAGA Republicans are quite open that they launched a rare mid-decade redistricting simply to maximize their partisan gain. Cheating Donnie cheered on the Texas Republicans and called for Florida, Indiana, and other states to do the same thing. The only way this asshole can win an election now is by rigging it!
Democratic lawmakers in California responded to the Texans’ power grab by redrawing their own congressional districts to act as a counterweight to the Texas plan. The California legislature passed two measures to send to voters the question of whether to redistrict the state temporarily to offset the new Texas map. The urgent measures received the required two-thirds majority to pass, and Governor Gavin Newsom signed them into law yesterday evening. Great move, Governor Newsom!

How is Dementia Donnie destroying America today?
Noted historian Heather Cox Richardson, in her excellent substack, posted that "Trump created a firestorm yesterday when he said that the Smithsonian Institution, the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex, located mostly in Washington, D.C., focuses too much on 'how bad slavery was.' But his objection to recognizing the horrors of human enslavement is not simply white supremacy. It is the logical outcome of the political ideology that created MAGA. It is the same ideology that leads him and his loyalists to try to rig the nation’s voting system to create a one-party state."
But what does Dementia Donnie know about history? He doesn't read. He doesn't care. This malignant narcissist only cares about himself. We have no president now. A real president represents his people and serves their interests, but Tangerine Trump only represents himself and serves his wealthy MAGA loyalists. Therefore, the United States is currently between presidents.
Trump made his political career on the idea that Democrats were trying to cheat him of victory, but it was Trump who was the Big Cheat. In 2020 Trump turned his baseless "Stop the Steal" rhetoric into his own weapon designed to overturn the results of the presidential election that he lost. Just yesterday, newly unredacted filings in the lawsuit Smartmatic brought against Fox [NOT] News included text messages showing that Fox [NOT] News Channel personalities knew the election wasn’t stolen.
Now worthless MAGA Republicans have gone to the next step: that democracy itself must be destroyed to create permanent Republican rule in order to make sure the government cannot be used for the government programs Americans want. As Richardson so articulately stated in her substack, "Trump is working to erase women and minorities from the public sphere while openly calling for a system that makes it impossible for voters to elect his opponents. The new Texas maps show how these two plans work together: people of color make up 60% of the population of Texas, but the new maps would put white voters in charge of at least 26 of the state’s 38 districts. According to Texas state representative Vince Perez, it will take about 445,000 white residents to secure a member of Congress, but about 1.4 million Latino residents or 2 million Black residents to elect one. In order to put those maps in place, the Republican Texas House speaker has assigned state troopers to police the Democratic members to make sure they show up and give the Republicans enough lawmakers present to conduct business. Today that police custody translated to Texas representative Nicole Collier being threatened with felony charges for talking on the phone, from a bathroom, to Democratic National Committee chair Ken Martin, Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), and Democratic California governor Gavin Newsom. Republicans have taken away the liberty, and now the voice, of a Black woman elected by voters to represent them in the government. This is a crisis far bigger than Texas."
Dementia Donnie is advocating for a world in which Black people, people of color, poor people, and women should let elite white men lead, and be grateful for that paternalism. It is the same argument elite enslavers made before the Civil War to defend their destruction of the idea of democracy to create an oligarchy.

We need roving bands of "citizen escorts!"
Dozens of Democrats left the state of Texas two weeks ago for the Democratic havens of California, Illinois, Massachusetts and New York to delay the Republican-controlled legislature’s approval of redrawn congressional districts sought by Dementia Donnie. When they returned Monday, these asshole Republicans that you voted for insisted that Democrats have around-the-clock police "escorts" to ensure they wouldn’t leave again and scuttle today’s planned House vote on a new political map favoring Republicans.
Dallas-area Rep. Linda Garcia said she drove three hours home from Austin with an officer following her. When she went grocery shopping, he went down every aisle with her, pretending to shop, she said. As she spoke to The Associated Press by phone, two unmarked cars with officers inside were parked outside her home.
Citizens need to fight fire with fire. We suggest "citizen escorts" for all Texas Republican legislators, made up of at least 20 "escorts" for each legislator that would follow each of them, protest signs in hand, 24 hours per day, and chanting "One, two, three, four — this is the pig you voted for!" or "We will overcome" the entire time. These Republican assholes obviously need such round-the-clock babysitting.

House will release some of DOJ’s Epstein files
According to a report from CNN, the House Oversight Committee intends to release portions of the Department of Justice‘s case files it subpoenaed related to Jeffrey Epstein — Trump's bestie, convicted sex offender and accused pedophilic sex trafficker — after making redactions to protect the victims identities. The Department of Justice had already been directed by the House subpoena to redact material related to victims’ identities and child sexual abuse – questioning the need for further delay to do so.
“The Committee intends to make the records public after thorough review to ensure all victims’ identification and child sexual abuse material are redacted," a Committee spokesperson said. James Comer (R-Ky), the House Oversight Chairman, said that he expected the files by this coming Friday.
“Releasing the Epstein files in batches just continues this White House cover-up. The American people will not accept anything short of the full, unredacted Epstein files. In a bipartisan vote, the Committee demanded complete compliance with our subpoena. Handpicked, partial productions are wholly insufficient and potentially misleading, especially after Attorney General Bondi bragged about having the entirety of the Epstein files on her desk mere months ago,” said Rep. Robert Garcia of California, the top Democrat on the panel.
The stress Trump is under over the Epstein files appears to have caused him to confuse Epstein, his old bestie, with his uncle John G. Trump, once a professor at MIT. When telling one of his digressive stories in Pittsburgh last week, this time a false story about Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber, Dementia Donnie claimed his uncle taught Kaczynski at MIT. John Trump died in 1985, 11 years before Kaczynski was outed as the Unabomber. Plus, Kaczynski attended Harvard, not MIT.
Despite the elaborate combover, heavy orange bronzer and poorly-applied makeup to cover his old man hand bruises, Trump’s advanced age, 79, is getting harder for even his most loyal sycophants to ignore. His legs swelled so much recently that the White House even admitted the self-described “perfect physical specimen” has been diagnosed with a chronic vein condition. But there’s also the obvious mental and cognitive decline. Though he’s as loud-mouthed as always, Trump speaks more slowly, and his already limited, second-grade vocabulary has shrunk even further. For his MAGA cult members, the knowledge that Trump won’t be around forever must be frightening, so the best they have come up with is "conspiracism," spinning non-stop lies to keep their audiences hooked and isolated from reality-based society. This is their best bet for continuing the MAGA cult after the autocratic leader dies. Every day though, Trump gets older in outwardly observable ways his ignorant base can’t completely ignore — and thankfully he won't be around forever. America is waiting for the big, beautiful obituary.

Donnie's Dementia
At yesterday's Ukraine peace talks at the White House, Trump repeated Russian talking points, complained about how poorly he is treated, said he had ended six wars, insisted that voting in the U.S. is full of fraud, and suggested he would cancel the 2028 elections.
By the late afternoon, the Trump was unable to recognize President Stubb, who was sitting directly across the table in front of him and who he had bonded with on the golf course. “President Stubb of Finland,” Trump said. Looking around, Trump continued: “And he’s uh, he’s somebody that, where are we here? Huh? Where? Where?” Stubb said, “I’m right here.” Trump focused on him and answered: “Oh. You look better than I’ve ever seen you look.”
Trump's flailing was reminiscent of a White House press conference earlier this month with Apple CEO Tim Cook in which Trump forgot that his Cabinet members were standing right behind him.
Trump has suffered a series of “senior moments” recently, repeatedly saying he was going to Russia when in fact he was headed to Alaska, forgetting the name of a “big” war he supposedly ended, writing incomprehensible social media posts, and losing track of people standing right behind him.
Trump, 79, is in serious cognitive decline and is mentally unfit for office.

It's time to redistrict all of America in favor of the Democrats!

Redistricting typically occurs at the beginning of each decade to coincide with the census, but Dementia Donnie has asked Texas to redistrict now in order to tip the scales in favor of the Republicans ahead of the mid-term 2026 elections because he knows his MAGA Maggot party has no chance of winning without cheating. The Republicans would not go to such lengths to rig district voting maps and keep Democratic voters from the polls if they had any chance of winning fairly. The most recent proposed map could help Republicans gain five seats held by Democrats. That would give the GOP 30 of Texas' 38 congressional districts, further diluting Democratic voting strength. The U.S. Constitution is very clear that no president has the power to dictate election rules.
In a display of cutthroat yet calculated politics, and in retaliation against Dementia Donnie's evil plan, Democrats in California unveiled a proposal that could give its dominant Democratic political party an additional five U.S. House seats in a bid to win the fight to control Congress next year. Way to go, Governor Newsom! Fight fire with fire!
Last week the Pew Research Center reported that 61% of Americans, the overwhelming majority, disapprove of Trump’s job performance. Far more Americans say Dementia Donnie is making the way the federal government works worse than better.

Why Trump will fail
Today we're reprinting Robert Reich's posting from his excellent substack because there's no way anyone could come close to being so accurate and so articulate.

Monica Crowley, a former Fox [NOT] News personality who is now Trump’s chief of protocol, apparently left behind in a public area of an Alaskan hotel documents describing confidential planned movements of Trump and Putin during their Friday meeting in Alaska.
That’s nothing compared to Emil Bove, Trump’s new nominee for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, who reputedly told subordinates at the Department of Justice that they should tell the courts “f*uck you” and ignore any court order blocking the deportations of Venezuelan migrants declared to be gang members.
Then there’s Billy Long, a former auctioneer and Republican congressman who Trump nominated less than two months ago to head the Internal Revenue Service, with little background in tax policy beyond promoting a fraud-riddled tax credit. Long has already been fired after clashing with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Long was the seventh person to head the IRS this year.
Let’s not forget E.J. Antoni, whom Trump just nominated to lead the Bureau of Labor Statistics after firing former BLS chief Erika McEntarfer for presiding over a disappointing jobs report earlier this month. Antoni is that rarity who has drawn harsh criticism from economists on the right as well as the mainstream for being ignorant, unprincipled, and incompetent. He recently called it “good news” that “all of the net job growth over the last 12 months has gone to native-born Americans.”
I haven’t even mentioned the towering ineptitude of Trump’s Cabinet picks, such as Pete Hegseth, Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Kristi Noem. Or the flagrant cruelty and wild negligence of Trump assistants Russell Vought and Stephen Miller.
How to explain the rise of so many inept and unprincipled people? Easy. They could never succeed on their own merits. As soon as their brainless incompetence became apparent — likely as soon as they took the first job that required some degree of intelligence and integrity — they were fired.
So they learned that the if they wanted to be rewarded with promotions, money, and power, they could not rely on the normal processes and systems of recognition for jobs well done. If they were to make anything of themselves, they must instead become ass-lickers, lapdogs, and sycophants.
They must latch onto someone who values loyalty above integrity or competence, someone for whom fawning obsequiousness is the most important criterion for being hired and promoted, ideally someone who cannot tell the difference between a groveling toady and a knowledgeable adviser.
Enter Trump.
History is strewn with the wreckage of dictatorships that have attracted and promoted incompetent lapdogs lacking talent or integrity. As Hannah Arendt explained in her classic The Origins of Totalitarianism: Totalitarianism in power invariably replaces all first-rate talents, regardless of their sympathies, with those crackpots and fools whose lack of intelligence and creativity is still the best guarantee of their loyalty.
Early in his career, Trump apprenticed himself to Roy Cohn, an unprincipled lawyer who taught the young Donald how to gain wealth and influence through ruthless bullying, profane braggadocio, opportunistic bigotry, baseless lawsuits, lying, and more lying. Yet as Trump’s “fixer” with politicians, judges, and mob bosses, Cohn remained utterly loyal to Trump and his father, Fred.
Years later, in his first and bestselling book, The Art of the Deal, Trump drew a distinction between integrity and loyalty. He preferred the latter, and for him, Roy Cohn exemplified it. Trump contrasted Cohn with all the hundreds of ‘respectable’ guys who made careers out of boasting about their uncompromising integrity but have absolutely no loyalty …. What I liked most about Roy Cohn was that he would do just the opposite.
Cohn died a disgrace, disbarred by the New York State Bar for unethical conduct after attempting to defraud a dying client by forcing him to sign a will amendment leaving Cohn his fortune.
People who climb upward by sacrificing their integrity to slavish subservience almost always fall on their faces eventually. Blind ambition trips them up. They cannot explain or defend their behavior by relying on principled competence because, like Roy Cohn, they are unprincipled and incompetent to their cores. The people they latch onto meet similar fates but for a different reason.
Leaders who value loyalty above all else find themselves surrounded by sycophantic crackpots and fools who will not provide leaders objective or useful feedback about their actions — no warnings beforehand and no criticism afterward. All they get are ass-licking commendations —“Wonderful idea, sir!” “Brilliant execution, sir!”
These cocoons of flattery seal off such leaders from the real-world consequences of what they do — which inevitably leads them to make grave mistakes. Some of those mistakes eventually cause their downfalls.
This perverse symmetry — the certain demise of grovelers because they’re incompetent and unprincipled, and the inevitable downfall of those to whom they grovel because they never receive useful and accurate feedback — marks the endpoint of all totalitarian systems. It’s the path on which Trump now treads.
This is not necessarily cause for hope. If history is any guide, many innocent people will suffer before the incompetent grovelers and the vain objects of their groveling meet their inevitable fates. America and the world are already suffering.

Trump's new bestie: Putin
On Trump's call from Air Force One to Volodymyr Zelensky on his flight back from Alaska, traitorous Trump embraced Putin’s view of the conflict. Trump indicated that he is abandoning his own demand for a ceasefire and adopting Putin’s position that negotiations should take place without one.
Score: Putin: 1, Trump: 0
Ukraine's President Zelensky, however, insists on a ceasefire before negotiations.
The abrupt cancellation of the planned luncheon after Friday's meeting with Putin could mean that U.S. officials sent Putin packing without lunch because he would not agree to a ceasefire. However, a more plausible reason worth keeping on the table is that Trump has recently exhibited both an inability to focus on any topic, and a need to live in a carefully constructed world that ignores reality and assures him he is the best and the brightest. A high-stakes meeting with principals about a very real situation might have been too much for Dementia Donnie to manage for a full day.
California governor Gavin Newsom posted, “We broke Donald Trump.” As late as Sunday afternoon, there still was no mention of the Alaska meeting on the State Department’s website — Trump's a LOSER. Both Putin and Trump have gone a long way toward aligning the U.S. government with Putin and other authoritarians, and it's destroying our relationship with most other countries, all of which are standing together against Putin and, if necessary, against Dementia Donnie.
European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen will accompany Zelensky to a meeting at the White House today. So will French president Emmanuel Macron, Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni, German chancellor Friedrich Merz, NATO secretary general Mark Rutte, United Kingdom prime minister Keir Starmer, and Finnish president Alexander Stubb. This suggests that something went very wrong in Alaska if this many European leaders are coming to Washington on such short notice.
As noted historian Heather Cox Richardson so articulately stated, "Trump has misunderstood the nature of power in a democracy at home, too. Rather than building domestic coalitions to support the government, he is overseeing the takeover of the government by a radical minority that seems to think the way to build power is for the government to attack its own people."
Trump would like to see himself as a sort of "god," as a powerful leader; instead Trump is nothing but Putin's Pawn. Dementia Donnie is launching a classic authoritarian project, attempting to take over a country through division and fear. But he badly misunderstands the nature of power, for the Real American Patriots will eventually put him down for being Putin's rabid dog.
By the way, Donnie, where are the Epstein files!

Hey MAGA America, Trump is Putin You On. He's lying to you. This is all a sham, a mirage, an elaborate piece of performance art, all of it.
When you side with the Kremlin, you've sorta said all you have to say, haven't you?
If you love America as much as you claim, then it’s time to take off those big red hats and retire them. That whole MAGA narrative has reached its expiration date.
The Emperor’s nakedness is exposed, the Wizard’s curtain has been pulled way, and the Strongman myth is dead. Watching Trump literally roll out a red carpet and gleefully applaud Vladimir Putin’s arrival here, it can’t be lost on you, can it? We know you’d never have missed this with any other past Commander-in-Chief.
When an American President stands alongside a murderous dictator and declares to trust that man more than our public servants across the aisle, more than our nation’s Press, he’s stepped out into the stark light of day and revealed himself. When he is more willing to collaborate with one of our greatest adversaries, a man guilty of poisonings and murders for hire and war crimes, than with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy or Democrats in Congress, he’s declared who he is.
And when American citizens and politicians in Trump's cult refuse to name it all as treasonous, when they choose to remain silent, when they pretend they don’t see it, they declare who they are — nothing more than enablers of Trump's dysfunction.
We see it. The world sees it. When are you going to see it? Trump is not for you. He is not for any of us. Trump is for Trump, and he always has been. America is a means to an end for him.
Look, we know you see the Left and people like us as your enemy, because from the moment he descended a glistening escalator a decade ago, Trump has only trafficked in fear and prejudice. He’s made monsters out of immigrants, LGBTQ people, Muslims, scientists, and medical professionals. He’s demonized Atheists, Democrats, Liberals, the Media, the homeless, and the Constitution. He’s continually declared war on liberal athletes and entertainers, on librarians and school teachers, on drag queens and beer companies.
Trump has no allegiance other than to holding power. He is not a brilliant businessman or adept deal-maker; he is a several-times bankrupt predator whose strength is all a show. He doesn’t love God beyond the one he sees in the mirror. He is not a patriot; he is a parasite — a MAGA Maggot. He and Vladimir Putin are of the same cloth. They are kindred spirits, similar animals.
Wake up America and kick this wicked, evil man out of office. Long after Trump is gone (Note: the sooner the better), we and those who follow us here (of all political affiliations, religious traditions, and nations of origin) will be left with the America he and his collaborators created: one that is less educated, less diverse, more in debt, more fractured, and more compromised by foreign leaders and domestic billionaires than in its history.
You may not be able to see through the charade yet, but take a look again at the way our "president" treats one of history’s most notorious monsters, a man who is a clear and present danger to not only Ukraine, but to all of Europe, and to the place you call home. Then answer the question, why is he so happy to welcome him and so reluctant to oppose him?

No Ceasefire Deal — another win for Putin & another failure for Trump
The self-proclaimed mega professional negotiator…purported deal maker…..was outmatched by Putin, his mentor. No deal....no ceasefire....no consequences....who can believe such a hollow, worthless person....what was it Trump said prior to the meeting???
Bottom line: In spite of his bromance with Vladimir Putin, the authoritarian dictator, Trump, the authoritarian fascist dictator wannabe and self-professed dealmaker, could NOT strike up a ceasefire deal Friday. CNN fact-checking found 53 instances where Trump made a solemn, direct, and specific pledge to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours of returning to office. Trump is now saying that he made those statements 'in jest.' Hardly! Those were just more of this beady-eyed bastard's incessant lies and empty promises in order to get elected, and his ignorant MAGA Maggots believed their cult leader's bullshit. Unlike those in Trump's cult, we Real American Patriots don't listen to or kowtow to convicted felons or convicted sexual abusers.
During the press conference after their meeting Friday, Dementia Donnie whined like a baby and reiterated his false and baseless claim that "Russia, Russia, Russia" (da, da, da) was a hoax. It's already been proven many times over that Russian interference in the election was, in fact, not a hoax.
In the end, the summit appears to have produced nothing but a favorable photo op for Putin.
Chiara Eisner of NPR reported that officials from the Trump administration left eight pages of information produced by the U.S. State Department in a public printer at the business center of an Alaskan hotel. The pages revealed potentially sensitive information about the August 15 meetings, including the names and phone numbers of three U.S. staff members and thirteen U.S. and Russian state leaders. "It strikes me as further evidence of the sloppiness and the incompetence of the administration," said Jon Michaels, a professor of law at UCLA who lectures about national security. This is your failing Trump administration, MAGA Maggots, not ours!

Oppose Trump's dictatorship at every opportunity
Yesterday Governor Gavin Newsom officially announced the launch of a statewide effort, called The Election Rigging Response Act, that will enable Californians to fight back against Trump’s attempts to rig Texas’ elections next year — gerrymandering democratically elected representatives out of office to immunize Dementia Donnie from the unpopularity of his policies and to keep his power unchecked by Congress. The plan leverages Democrats’ control of the most populous state in the Union to warn Republicans to back away from their attempt to rig the 2026 election.
The key provisions are:
- Retains California’s Citizens Redistricting Commission and declares state policy supporting the use of fair, nonpartisan redistricting commissions nationwide.
- Temporarily adopts new California congressional districts for use in congressional elections through 2030.
Governor Newsom’s announcement of the plan continued a shift in Democratic rhetoric from defense to offense. It's about time the Democrats fight fire with fire!
“California Democrats will not allow Trump’s Republican Party to rig the system and take permanent control of the U.S. House of Representatives,” said California Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas. “We are prepared and we will fight fire with fire. We will do whatever it takes to defend our democracy. We will do whatever it takes to protect the voices, the votes, and the rights of every American.”
Governor Newsom called for Americans to “wake up to what Donald Trump is doing…. Wake up to the assault on institutions and knowledge and history. Wake up to his war on science, public health, his war against the American people. This is a guy who lays claim to want to get a Nobel Prize sitting there and bending his knee to Mr. Putin.”

Look at what we've got now
Ten years ago the office of president was graced by Barack Obama, a man of dignity and intelligence who gave health insurance to all Americans who wanted it through the Affordable Care Act. Now we've got an ignorant malignant narcissist and fascist pig occupying the office whose Big Ugly Bill is cutting Medicare and Medicaid benefits and taking health insurance away from millions of others, and whose anonymous goon squads are rounding up and arresting citizens and non-citizens alike without the benefit of the due process of law as required by our Constitution. Trump is a traitor to America.
Four years ago the office of president was graced by Joe Biden, another man of dignity and intelligence who served our country for decades as a true statesman and shrewd negotiator, and who had the respect not only of lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, but also of the world's leaders. Now we've got a convicted felon and sexual abuser who was impeached twice and who gets no respect because he very simply deserves none, and who has made the office of president a laughing stock among the world's leaders. Trump is a traitor to America.

Yesterday MSNBC ran a column of statistics fact-checking Trump's falsehoods and misleading statements live, in real time, during his press conference, showing that crime in Washington, D.C. — and across the country — is falling significantly, despite Trump’s baseless claim that we are in a crime wave. We're not. Dementia Donnie is ready to manufacture statistics and public emergencies that do not exist in reality to control a majority Democratic — and a majority Black — city he has never liked, in all likelihood because it has rejected him by overwhelming margins larger than any state in the country in three subsequent presidential elections. It appears at least some in the media are catching on to the idea that Dementia Donnie's lies must be challenged as they happen, rather than hours later when public attention has moved on.
In yet another diversion from his involvement with Epstein, Drumpf also posted that the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, more commonly known as the Kennedy Center, would soon be called the “TRUMP/KENNEDY CENTER.” The citizens of America should burn the place down rather than associate the traitorous and vile name of "Trump" with the building.

As Richard Stengel, former undersecretary of state and editor of Time magazine noted, “Throughout history, autocrats use a false pretext to impose government control over local law enforcement as a prelude to a more national takeover. That’s far more dangerous than the situation he says he is fixing.” While Trump is mobilizing the National Guard under a false pretext now, he memorably refused to mobilize it on January 6, 2021, to protect the lawmakers under a real siege in the U.S. Capitol as his own supporters tried to stop the counting of the electoral votes that would make Joe Biden president.
This is all part of Dementia Donnie's standard operating procedure of mind control — his standard fascist tactics: 1) Be the first to frame an idea (preemptive framing), 2) Divert attention from real issues (diversion), 3) Attack the messenger and change direction (deflection), and 4) Test the public reaction (trial balloon). He uses these techniques over and over. Dementia Donnie is trying to create fear in all of us. Making people fear the government is key to the rise of an authoritarian. Putin is ten times smarter than Donnie, the fool
Everybody remember how Donnie Dim Wit made a campaign promise to end the Russia/Ukraine war on his first day in office with one phone call? Remember how that campaign promise of his, like most others, fell short?
Well, get ready for Donnie’s latest clumsy-ass attempt at diplomacy: he’s invited Vladimir Putin to Alaska this coming Friday for a despot snugglebunny playdate to negotiate a ceasefire in Ukraine. Why Alaska? It's because Putin has been declared a war criminal by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, and there’s a warrant out for his arrest. America’s great frozen north is one of the few places on the planet where Putin can go without ending up in handcuffs. Donnie is an American traitor, so where can he go where we Real American Patriots can be assured he'll be placed in handcuffs? Let's send him there.
Donnie is coddling a war criminal, and providing him with a safe haven. Instead of arresting Putin, he will welcome him with open arms onto American soil. Donnie is an international embarrassment.
Remember when Donnie actually invited the Taliban to Camp David for a Fourth of July sleepover in 2019, and then canceled the cookout after John Bolton, his national security adviser, told him that it was the most stupid idea he’d ever heard in his life — after which Donnie fired Bolton via a tweet? This is a huge victory for Putin — because look at what Donnie and Vlad are cooking up. They're planning this summit to hammer out an agreement that will force Ukraine to cede to Russia its land currently occupied by Russian troops, as well as Crimea. This deal would hand Ukraine’s eastern industrial territory to Russia and bless the principle that one country can seize territory from another through force. Observers note that once this principle is established, as Putin wishes, there will be nothing stopping him from invading Ukraine again as soon as his war-weary country recovers its strength. Putin gets to go ‘all this is mine now’ and Ukraine will be cordially invited to go screw itself. They’re then going to take this plan to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has already said, “We will not allow this second attempt to partition Ukraine. Knowing Russia – where there is a second, there will be a third.”
Donnie is allowing himself to get fleeced by Putin, just like he kowtowed to Putin in Helsinki in 2018 when he stood onstage alongside Putin and accepted the former KGB officer’s denials of Russian interference in the 2016 election instead of American intelligence that proved otherwise. Trump was asked directly which one he believed: his own intelligence community or Putin. In so many words, Trump gave the answer: Putin. Senator John McCain, the Arizona Republican and American war hero, called it “one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president in memory.”
Now we've got kiss-ass Senator Lindsey Graham saying, “I’m confident President Trump will walk away – like Reagan did with Gorbachev – if Putin insists on a bad deal.” Donnie Dim Wit wouldn’t recognize a bad deal if it came to life, leapt off the page, introduced itself as Mister Bad Deal and said ‘I’m a bad deal.’ Don't forget — Donnie is the low-wattage dumb-ass who, after his fourth casino went bankrupt, decided it would be awesome to open a fifth.
Donnie's cognitive ability is slipping quickly and he's getting played once again by Putin. Donnie is truly an embarrassment to the United States of America. The public’s faith in Donnie's ability has plummeted. A recent Gallup poll found his approval rating at an all-time low of 37%.

Christian Nationalism has now become Anti-Christian, Anti-Women, and Anti-American
Pete "Kegger" Hegseth, Trump's completely unqualified defense secretary, posted a seven minute video from CNN on X in which Doug Wilson, a white Christian nationalist and leader of the "Crusade for Christian Domination in the Age of Trump," as well as co-founder of the Idaho-based Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC), and several patriarchal pastors who say women should no longer be allowed to vote. Hegseth is a proud member of a church affiliated with the far-right extremist CREC. Hegseth and his family were in attendance at the Wilson church’s inaugural service in Washington in July.
In the segment posted by Hegseth, Wilson raises the idea of women not voting. Later in the video, Wilson says he does not believe women should hold leadership positions in the military or be able to fill high-profile combat roles. Another pastor interviewed by CNN for its segment, Toby Sumpter, said: “In my ideal society, we would vote as households. I would ordinarily be the one to cast the vote, but I would cast the vote having discussed it with my household.” A congregant interviewed for the segment remarked that she considers her husband as the head their household, and added: “I do submit to him.”
Backward-thinking, small-minded, so-called "leaders" (read: "ChristoNazis") like Hogbreath, the reformed alcoholic with his hatred-filled tattoos, are attempting to use their twisted, fringe religious beliefs to take away rights guaranteed to all by our country's founding fathers. The separation of church and state isn’t some anti-religion move; it’s the safety net. James Madison nailed it back in 1785: keep the state out of religion, keep religion out of the state, and you actually protect both. The minute you let lawmakers start playing preacher, you lose both your faith and your freedoms.
The white Christian Nationalist's fringe, backward, patriarchal agenda is dangerous to America, but it's now being cultivated and spread by many in what used to be mainline evangelical Christian churches, and their non-thinking congregations are being indoctrinated by this contemptuous, greedy, and downright anti-American and anti-Christian bullshit. The founding fathers knew that once you let one religion write the laws, it’s not about conscience anymore, it’s about control. The United States of America is not based on any religion or religious sect (a.k.a. cult), but rather on the law. The country’s founding documents are the Declaration of Independence, which established the principle that all people are created equal, and the U.S. Constitution, which has gradually expanded since it was first written, increasingly recognizing the equal rights of all Americans.
Hegseth is only a weak lemming who is following Trump's fascist and neo-Nazi ambition of rewriting the moral rules to match his evil ambitions (i.e. the "enshitification" of America), twisting the legal code until it’s a weapon, and then daring anyone to stop him.

Seated around our table are those who serve the hungry and give comfort to the outcasts. It's not a feast for those who spit on the guest list, who call for the expulsion of the migrants, the Muslims, the poor, the brown-skinned, the broken, the loud, or the lost by armed, faceless goons. It's not a feast for those who will fill their faces while supporting a tyrant who has cut off aid to the starving children in Gaza. This is not intolerance; it's called triage. Out of touch LOSERS!
We're talking Republicans here! The Republican Party is forever broken. Republicans have devolved, by their own doing, into the party of out of touch LOSERS. This is what happens when a weak group of followers instead of leaders is brainwashed into a cult by a demonic madman.
In politics, a key component of effective leadership is to listen to your constituents. After all, politicians are put in office by the people, and it's the job of the politicians to represent those people and their wishes. This is not what's happening today under Toddler Trump's fascist dictatorship. A good president listens to see how he might be wrong. Trump is only willing to listen to those who continually praise him and tell him exactly how right he is — every time about everything. Trump is a neo-Nazi LOSER.
Earlier this week Republican Mike Flood of Nebraska held a town hall in Lincoln in order to try to sell his constituents on Toddler Trump's Big Ugly Bill. It didn't work. One of his constituents asked what she called a fiscal question. She asked: “With 450 million FEMA dollars being reallocated to open Alligator Alcatraz, and 600 million taxpayer FEMA dollars being used to now open more concentration camps, and ICE burning through $8.4 million a day to illegally detain people — How much does it cost for fascism? How much do the taxpayers have to pay for a fascist country?”
The crowd of constituents cheered wildly in agreement with that voter's questions. But Flood, one of Trump's flunkey sycophants, dismissed the voters' outrage. Such ignorant Republicans are maintaining they aren’t worried about their angry constituents and dismiss the town hall pushback as not reflective of real voter sentiment. We Real American Patriots, however, are trying to tell our representatives that ignoring our wishes is doing so at their own peril. There will be an historic Democratic election turnout in both the upcoming mid-terms and in 2028, and it will be an overwhelming Democratic victory where Toddler Trump's MAGA Maggots will be sent packing!
Mike Flood was then greeted with chants of "Liar" and "Vote him out!" at his town hall as he attempted to make his closing comments. Common town hall explosions such as this are now part of a genuine and regular backlash to ineffective and tyrannical Republican governance in Washington.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Reporters noticed that the online version of the United States Constitution, maintained by the Library of Congress and which Trump is trying to take over, was missing parts of Article I, the part of the Constitution that lays out the rights and duties of Congress. Parts of Section 8 and all of Sections 9 and 10 were gone. Those include Congress’s control over the District of Columbia, Congress’s power to make the laws, the promise that habeas corpus would not be suspended, the stipulation that no money can be used by the government unless Congress has appropriated it, the requirement that no president can accept gifts from foreign countries, and the specification that only Congress can levy tariffs. Trump the Traitor thinks that by deleting sections of our precious Constitution, he can unilaterally amend it and change history. He can't. Officials said the deletions were “due to a coding error” (Yeah, right! Trump's lemmings find a way to lie about anything and everything) and by the end of the day the missing sections were restored.

America has a resurgence of Fascism under Trump
A big thank you goes out to noted historian and professor Heather Cox Richardson for educating us on the facts of this day in history.
Today, August 6th, is Hiroshima Day — the anniversary of that fateful day when America bombed Japan during World War II, a war where Americans from all walks of life turned out to defeat fascism — a government system based on the idea that some people are better than others. But now fascism has raised its ugly head again under Trump. We've now got the convicted sexual abuser, insurrectionist, and malignant narcissist in the White House, and as bad as that is, madman Trump also aligns with the Project 2025 plan to return to the ideals of old southern slavery and male patriarchy, with heavy doses of angry Christian Nationalism.
In March of 1964, after government goons fractured the skull of young John Lewis during a peaceful voting rights protest on the Edmund Pettus Bridge, President Johnson called for Congress to pass legislation defending Americans’ right to vote. Congress did. And on this day in 1965, the Voting Rights Act became law. It became such a fundamental part of our legal system that Congress repeatedly reauthorized it, by large margins, as recently as 2006. By the way, esteemed Congressman John Lewis went on to serve our country for 17 terms!
However, in 2013, John Roberts, the Chief Justice of what has now become Trump's "Kangaroo Court," struck down the provision of the law requiring that states with histories of voter discrimination get approval from the Department of Justice before they changed their voting laws. Immediately, the legislatures of those Republican-dominated states began to pass measures to suppress the vote again. In the wake of Trump's 2020 election, Republican-dominated states increased the rate of voter suppression, and on July 1, 2021, Trump's stacked Kangaroo Court permitted further voter suppression with the Brnovich v. Democratic National Committee decision. This is the worthless Republican party in action, folks!
A week ago, on July 29, Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) led a number of his Democratic colleagues in reintroducing a measure to restore and expand the Voting Rights Act. The bill is called the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act after the man whose skull police officers fractured on the Edmund Pettus Bridge. The bill stands little chance of passage, however, because the Republican-led Congress wants to suppress your vote, not expand it.

Congratulations to the Texas Democrats!
They finally got a backbone! Texas Democrats fled the state Sunday in an effort to hinder MAGA Republicans from approving a new U.S. House map that could boost their slim congressional majority in 2026. The walkout lets the Democrats prevent Republicans from having enough votes for maps that would add five new Republican-leaning congressional districts.
The lemmings in Trump's cult call the re-districting "election integrity." Bottom line: it's really called "cheating." Trump knows he can't win an election unless he rigs it, he steals it, or he cheats. In other words, Trump has no chance of winning fair and square, so he is gerrymandering — trying to "fix" or "steal" the results of the mid-term elections before they even happen. Trump proves once again that he is nothing but a cheat!
California governor Gavin Newsom posted on social media: “Trump is so scared of the American people holding him accountable for his catastrophic actions, he wants Republicans to rig the 2026 elections for him.” Newsom pointed out that it would be easy for California to eliminate its Republican-leaning districts altogether, getting rid of nine Republican seats. He posted on social media: “Game on.”
“We’re leaving Texas to fight for Texans,” Gene Wu, chair of the House Democratic Caucus, said in a statement Sunday. “We’re not walking out on our responsibilities; we’re walking out on a rigged system that refuses to listen to the people we represent.”
Texas governor Abbott responded to the Texas House Democrats' quorum break by threatening to remove from office any Democrats who are not back in their seats for Monday’s vote and to replace them “swiftly” with his own appointees thanks to his power to fill vacancies. He also suggested he would consider them felons for accepting money to pay for their food and housing in Chicago and that such a designation would enable him to cross state lines to get them back. He threatened to use “my full extradition authority to demand the return to Texas of any potential out-of-state felons.” Fuck you, powerless little governor greg abbott! The REAL ALREADY-CONVICTED FELON sits in the White House! Go cross state lines and drag his fat ass out of the Oval Office and extradite him.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker made it clear that the Texas Democrats’ fight against Trump’s power grab is the fight of all Americans to protect democracy. “Let's be clear,” Pritzker said, “this is not just rigging the system in Texas. It's about rigging the system against the rights of all Americans for years to come. Texas Democrats were left no choice but to leave their home state, block a vote from taking place, and protect their constituents. This is a righteous act of courage.”
The Texas House then issued civil arrest warrants to force the return of Democratic lawmakers who left the state and blocked a vote on the Republican-led redistricting plan. MAGA Maggot Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) said the absent lawmakers had forfeited their seats and warned he would begin efforts to remove them from office if they didn't return. The warrants can only be enforced within Texas. Dementia Donnie, the conniving and cheating asshole, is forcing this redistricting in order to rig the 2026 elections because he knows he can't win any election fair and square.

You can't support him and still call yourself a good person
It's not possible to support him and call yourself a good person; that's an oxymoron. Aligning yourself with him is fundamentally antithetical to anything good. It's no different than aligning yourself with Hitler and then calling yourself good.
There are things that good people don't do.
Good people don't cause a treasonous insurrection against the ratification of election results in our nation's Capitol building — a riotous insurrection that killed five and injured 174 police officers.
Good people don’t indiscriminately round up human beings, separate them from their families, and throw them into stifling dog kennels or ship them to foreign countries without due process.
Good people don’t terminate dedicated public servants, highly educated physicians and scientists, and revered generals, if they don’t like the information these people provide them.
Good people don’t prevent the release of the results of investigations into massive human trafficking and sexual assault rings.
Good people don’t employ white supremacists and Nazis.
Good people don't erase protections for the water and the air, for the elderly, the terminally ill, and for LGBTQ people.
Good people don't vilify and violently attack peaceful protestors.
Good people don't take away healthcare from the sick and the poor.
Good people don't gouge those in poverty while sheltering the wealthy.
Good people don't abuse their social media platforms to bait world leaders and to taunt private citizens.
Good people don't lie as easily as breathing, or make a mockery of a religion they have no interest in, or treat people of color and women as property, or disregard the systems and laws of this land because powerful and complicit enablers allow it.
Good people don't prey upon the vulnerable, they don't leverage their influence to bully dissenters, and they don't harbor sexual predators.
But Trump is not a good human being, and there's simply no way around this truth. Objectively speaking, Trump is the very worst humanity has produced, a moral bottom-feeder without scruples or conscience or decency. Outside of those indoctrinated into his dwindling, sycophantic death cult, the entire world is in agreement on this. Trump is the vile personification of the Ugly American, which is why, as long as he is here and as long as he represents and holds power over this nation, we will be a dangerous place, a fractured mess, and a global embarrassment. He will ever be lowering the bar of our legacy in the world and poisoning the collective fates of hundreds of millions of people.
What is painfully obvious in these moments isn't simply that the person alleging to lead this country is a terrible human being; it is that anyone left still defending him, applauding him, justifying him, celebrating him, probably is a terrible human being too. The only reason left to support a man like this is that he reflects your hateful heart, that he shares your contempt of people of color, your hostility toward outsiders, your toxic misogyny, your ignorant bigotry, and your feelings of supremacy. He is a snarling, vicious, grotesque avatar who says the things you believe and hurts the people you want to hurt.
Still supporting him is an act of violence against vulnerable people.
It is an affirmation of white supremacy.
It is a celebration of cruelty.
It is a reiteration of homophobia and transphobia and nationalism and anti-Semitism.
It is a ratification of domestic terrorism.
It is a blessing of bigotry.
It is an embracing of inhumanity.
Good people don't align with this, no matter what story they tell themselves.
The criminality and immorality of this president are so far beyond the pale, so beneath contempt, and so blatantly racist that he should not have a single defender. Trump should be universally condemned. Humanity should be in agreement in abhorring him.
And yet today there will be millions of self-professed good people and so-called Christian people who will make excuses for him or debate his motives or diminish the damage. They will double down and pump their chests and fly their MAGA truck flags. Good people don't spend their every waking day generating misery, stoking division, and causing suffering. And good people don't defend people who do.

Trump's sexual abusing co-conspirator was moved to a different prison
Ghislaine Maxwell, Trump bestie Jeffrey Epstein's accomplice, has been quietly moved out of a Florida federal prison to a lower-security prison "camp" in Texas as she seeks an overturn of her 20-year conviction and a pardon for sex trafficking. Not surprisingly, Trump's Bureau of Prisons (BOP) had no comment on whether Maxwell’s transfer violated BOP policy regarding keeping convicted sex offenders out of minimum-security prison camps. Trump, the friend and accomplice of pedophiles, doesn't give a shit about following policy.
Maxwell spent two days last week talking to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche – Trump’s former personal defense lawyer – at a courthouse near the Tallahassee prison.
The move sparked concern from the family of one of Maxwell’s most vocal accusers, the late Virginia Giuffre, that the transfer is part of an undisclosed deal between the Justice Department and the Trump administration. In recent days, they have expressed worry that Trump and presidentially appointed leaders in the DOJ are trying to silence Maxwell without receiving any input from potentially hundreds of accusers who say she and Epstein sexually abused them and forced them to have sex with prominent men who have not been identified publicly.

Trump is back at the Oval Office after five days spent cheating at golf at his Scotland golf courses, and he's back to falling asleep in meetings. For those of you keeping score at home, Dementia Donny has now fallen asleep every time he’s had to sit at one of these roundtable events. As soon as anyone else starts speaking, Donny gets clobbered upside the head by Mister Sandman, and off he goes into the Land of F*cked Up Dreams. (Note: he even fell asleep at the Pope's funeral, as well as at his own criminal trial!).
Dr. John Gartner, who spent 28 years as a professor of psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University Medical School, has an explanation: “To uncontrollably fall asleep during the day is something that’s very common among patients with dementia.” Dementia Donnie's mental and cognitive deterioration is so very obvious. We've seen it in his glitching, his retarded posture, his incessant lies, his second-grade sentence structure, and his nonsensical gibberish, such as one of his latest quotes (a.k.a. lies), boasting that he was solving all the world’s problems: “I’ve stopped six wars in the last — I'm averaging about a war a month. But the last three were very close together. India and Pakistan, and a lot of them. Congo was just and Rwanda was just done, but you probably know I won't go into it very much, because I don't know the final numbers yet. I don't know. Numerous people were killed, and I was dealing with two countries that we get along with very well, very different countries from certain standpoints.
