Another Worthless, Impeached Republican!
Like Trump, Ken Paxton, the Texas Attorney General and an ethical train wreck, put his own interests over the interests of the country and over the interests of the people who elected him. So his own Republican party impeached him this past weekend in the Texas State House!
Paxton's been under indictment for felony securities fraud for eight years. Eight of Paxton's "lieutenants" accused him of bribery and abuse of office.
Paxton's way of protecting himself is the same as Trump's, which is "I'm taking on the liberals, so I'm your hero," and so he tried to rally his allies ahead of the impeachment vote. Not surprisingly, Trump is Paxton's mentor and biggest supporter. Trump has an ongoing interest in presenting investigations and punishments as invalid. Trump even called to "Free Ken Paxton." Paxton is following Trump's playbook, namely to "divert," claiming this whole thing is some deep state plot by Republicans who were hand-in-glove with liberal Democrats.
It's about time such corrupt officials are held accountable. Lock him up!

Desperate!
Former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade wrote for MSNBC that the letter sent to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland from Trump's lawyers is a desperate "propaganda piece" that signals fear of a coming indictment.
The letter to Garland requesting a meeting to discuss special counsel Jack Smith's investigation into Trump over classified documents that were found at his Mar-a-Lago residence last summer was a "gimmick" designed to inflame passions and control the narrative. In the letter, Trump referred to Smith's dual investigations into the former president's attempts to overturn his loss in the 2020 presidential election and issues surrounding his post-presidency handling of the classified documents as an "ongoing injustice."
Political analyst and Dillard University professor Robert Collins told Newsweek, "This is basically a desperate Hail Mary pass by his [Trump's] attorneys. It will not work. It will not end the indictment, nor will it change the timeline of the prosecution."

Trump would slash seniors' Social Security benefits
CBS News reported that Trump's stance on reforming Social Security would cheat seniors by slashing their benefits by 23% after 2033.
The Social Security trust fund is projected to run out of money in the next decade if nothing is done to extend it.
The conservative Club for Growth group is airing a new ad that tees up attacks on Trump's stances on Social Security, as his golf course in Washington D.C. hosts the Saudi-backed LIV golf tour this weekend.

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail
Trump, the lifelong conman, bully, and serial liar, is attempting to rally his cult of MAGA Maggots (aka stupid supporters) to more violence, similar to the way he incited the Jan. 6 insurrection, under the guise of an audience with Attorney General Merrick Garland to discuss an investigation being run by special prosecutor Jack Smith.
Trump's letter, of course, was not written in good faith. His intended audience is not Garland at all, but rather his ignorant MAGA base, particularly those with open wallets. This was not a serious request for an audience with Garland, but rather a strategy guided by Trump's belief that the only thing that matters is power and force, as it seeks extralegal means to keep him out of prison, namely by invoking the MAGA base and betting that their often violent passion will exert enough pressure to break the legal systems in ways that he otherwise cannot.
Trump's general idea is the same as it was for his Jan. 6 insurrection: rally his delusional conspiracy theorists (i.e. his MAGA base) enough to scare Garland and Smith away from indicting him. Trump is wagering that the ongoing threat of violence is intimidating. He's looking to create the fear that he will win in 2024, giving him the power to punish his enemies and pardon all those people who went to prison for rioting on his behalf before.
Trump's threats won't work. Both Garland and Smith are experienced prosecutors who have a poor opinion of criminals like Trump who resort to threats and intimidation.
It's time to lock this traitor up for good.

The first sentencing hearing, for militia leader Stewart Rhodes, convicted of seditious conspiracy, is scheduled for today. Prosecutors have asked for harsh prison sentences for each of the nine defendants ranging from 10 to 25 years.

Another Republican Flunkie fumbled his way into the presidential race
Ron DeSantis, the flunkie conservative governor of Florida, entered the presidential race yesterday by fumbling his way through a failed Twitter event with Elon Musk. Musk’s Twitter Spaces event was marred by embarrassing technical glitches. For about 25 minutes, Musk and venture capitalist David Sacks struggled before an assembled audience of only a few hundred thousand people to get the audio up and running. The sound repeatedly cut in and out, ultimately leading to Musk ending the Spaces event and starting a fresh one under Sacks’ account. That ultimately solved the issue, perhaps because an even smaller audience of a couple hundred thousand users showed up to listen to DeSantis.
DeSantis’ announcement had become the worst thing a presidential announcement can become: a joke.
Once the second Twitter Spaces finally got going, DeSantis, Musk, and Sacks, the three musketeers, predictably trained their attention on bashing the establishment press. It was something of great irony to listen to: A Twitter Spaces event centered on attacking legacy media while simultaneously failing horribly at replicating what legacy media outlets do on a daily basis.

Trump needs to drop out of the race
Texas billionaire Hal Lambert is the latest Republican donor to publicly dump Trump. “I think Donald Trump should drop out the race, quite frankly, for the better of the country,” said Lambert.
"Donald Trump can only serve one term,” said Lambert, who served on Trump’s inaugural committee. “He’ll effectively be a lame duck almost on day one if he were to win.”
At least five other Republican Party megadonors say they’re done with Trump. Andy Sabin, Ken Griffin, Ronald Lauder, Steve Schwarzman and Thomas Peterffy all said they were distancing themselves from Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. “The problem with Trump is he has so many negatives, he can’t get elected, period,” said Thomas Peterffy, the billionaire founder of Interactive Brokers Group Inc.
It's time for special counsel Jack Smith to hang this asshole in court and get rid of this filthy vermin for good.
Because of Trump, today's Republican Party is a de facto global right-wing political crime operation with Trump as its cult leader. Trump is a LOSER in the polls
Trump is the only president in history to have never made it above 50% in the polls. President Biden may be disliked, but Trump is reviled by the voters he needs the most to regain the White House.
Today, Trump’s polls are worse than Biden’s. Only 32% say they had a favorable view of Trump compared with 62% who said they had an unfavorable impression.
President Biden would defeat Trump by an even bigger margin than in 2020 if the election was held today, a new WPA Intelligence survey shows. Prevent Trump from running for office
So far, over 192,000 people have signed a petition to ban Trump from the 2024 election. Campaign group MoveOn created a petition in November that calls for government officials to disqualify Trump from the 2024 presidential election on the grounds of violating Article Three of the fourteenth amendment of the Constitution, which states that any person who “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” after taking a congressional oath should be barred from running for office. The petition itself states that “Donald Trump and his associates planned, promoted, and paid for a criminal conspiracy that became the January 6 insurrection. We need to fight back even harder to hold Trump accountable for his actions to damage our democracy-actions that continue today and are focused on laying the groundwork for his next coup to place him in the White House in 2024, no matter the will of the voters.”
Steven B., one petition signer, wrote, “Trump has violated the Constitution. Either we are a nation of laws…that believes in the Constitution…or we are not. Here’s our chance to say who we are.”

Trump is a "laughing fool"
Ex-National Security Advisor John Bolton, on CNN's "This Morning," said that world leaders saw Trump as a "laughing fool" and rejected his ex-boss's claims during last week's town hall in New Hampshire that he could have stopped Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine had he still been in office last year. Bolton is an experienced diplomat and defense hawk who served under Trump from April 2018 to September 2019.
While speaking with journalist Kaitlan Collins, Trump said that Russia would not have invaded Ukraine had he been in the Oval Office and also said that he could "settle" the conflict in 24 hours if voters send him back to office. Bolton said that if Trump had won reelection in 2020, his push to weaken NATO would have aided Russia in their quest to take over Ukraine.
Molly Jong-Fast, in her article in Vanity Fair, said, "Trump has taken dishonesty far beyond making vague, unfulfillable promises or spinning one’s record,” noting that Trump has made thousands of claims that are at best misleading. “He made tens of thousands of false or misleading claims in office,” Jong-Fast writes. “He’ll say things that can be easily disproved by visible evidence, like that he built his long-promised border wall with Mexico, or that he’d never met E. Jean Carroll, even when there is a photo of him with the columnist who he sexually abused and defamed. It was telling that Trump, as president, once told a crowd that what they’re ‘seeing’ and ‘reading is not what’s happening.’”

19FortyFive.com reported that Trump, the ignoramus, said that the federal government should default on its debts unless the Biden administration agrees to “massive” spending cuts. If the government defaults on its debt, credit card rates, car loans, and mortgage rates would spike, and massive layoffs could occur. The stock market would become volatile.
Even Trump’s fellow Republicans are dismissing Trump's reckless message as “too risky to seriously consider.” Trump has proved his ignorance.
Republican Senator John Cornyn (R-Tx.) agreed, saying, “Nobody thinks default is a good idea. Nobody.” Even Kevin McCarthy, Speaker of the House, expressed skepticism towards Trump’s proposal. Senator Mitt Romney (R-Ut.) said he believes Trump is rooting for a default because it would serve his own interests. “If there were a default, the one person who might be tempted to celebrate politically would be Donald Trump, because he’d say, ‘If I were president, this would have never happened,'” said Romney. He added that Trump’s CNN performance showed someone “untethered to the truth and untethered to the constitutional order.”

- The real GDP declined 3.4% in 2020 from the previous year, the largest drop since 1947.

Princeton historian Sean Wilentz said, “I think it would be the end of the republic. It would be a kind of overthrow from within.”
WaPo reporter David Montgomery consulted with 21 experts in the presidency, political science, public administration, the military, intelligence, foreign affairs, economics and civil rights. This is what they see as Trump's evil plan:
- Phase 1: Trump seizes control of the government. He would purge the FBI and install MAGA loyalists (i.e. MAGA Maggots who place their loyalty to Trump above their oath of office).
- Phase 2: Trump would govern without Senate advice and consent. Like in his first term, Trump relied on mere “acting” Cabinet secretaries and unconfirmed agency chiefs who wielded delegated authority.”
- Phase 3: Trump would create a MAGA civil service, stripping those employees of their civil service protections, the intent being to politicize the whole civil service. Trump is looking for revenge, with the effect being the return of a patronage system that was abolished in the late 1800s where Trump would be able to decide, not on the basis of merit, but on the basis of political or personal interest, a larger segment of the workforce.

The Jury Begins Deliberations
A New York City jury begins deliberations today in a civil trial over advice columnist E. Jean Carroll's claims that Trump raped her in 1996.
Jurors can award compensatory and punitive damages. Trump continues to claim he never sexually assaulted Carroll or knew her.
Trump didn't even bother to show up in court during the two weeks of the trial, but the coward had plenty of time to play golf in the United Kingdom instead.
It's time that the jury finds this pig guilty.

Too old for the presidency?

In our opinion, in a country of 332 million people, we can certainly find two other qualified candidates in the prime of their working lives on both sides of the aisle to serve as president.
Poll respondents agree. According to a Washington Post-ABC News Poll, four in 10 Americans, or 43% of those polled, said that both Biden and Trump were too old to serve as the next president.
We have said it often that stupidity is not illegal in the United States. Traitorous Trump made $160 million from international business dealings while he was president
When it came to foreign conflicts of interest, Trump and his company pledged to pause foreign business while he was president. They did not,” Rebecca Jacobs and Robert Maguire wrote for CREW. According to Trump's tax returns, a large portion of that money came from the golf courses he’s visiting this week. Trump abused the presidency for his own personal profit.
“Trump pulled in the most money from the United Kingdom, where his Aberdeen and Turnberry golf courses in Scotland helped him gross $58 million. Trump’s now-defunct hotel and tower in Vancouver helped him pull in $36.5 million from Canada. Trump brought in more than $24.4 million from Ireland, home to his often-visited Doonbeg golf course, as well as $9.6 million from India, and nearly $9.7 million from Indonesia,” CREW reported.
Trump was indicted last month by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office for allegedly falsifying business records in connection to the hush-money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
Trump opted to visit his golf courses this week instead of appearing in court to defend himself against rape charges by American journalist E. Jean Carroll.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has been investigating Trump's illegal attempt to reverse his Georgia defeat in the 2020 election, and is likely to file formal charges against him later this summer.
Tommy Bagwell, a Georgia billionaire who was one of the state’s biggest financial backers of Trump, has dropped him over election fraud lies. Bagwell pointed out that he had given a fortune to Trump, then added: “Not anymore.”

Raw Story reported that between 1933 and 2020 there were 14 American presidents: 7 Democratic and 7 Republican. The economy during this time grew at an average rate of 4.6% under the Democratic presidents, but only an anemic 2.4% under Republican presidents. For example, the economy has grown three times faster under Biden than under Trump. Ten of the past 11 recessions began under Republican presidents. Republican presidents have exploded the national debt, while the only balanced budgets out of the past 60 years have been presented by Democratic presidents Carter, Clinton, and Obama.
Bill Clinton left George W. Bush a $128 billion surplus (after 4 consecutive years of budget surpluses): Bush, the Republican, immediately squandered it with a massive tax cut for billionaires and two criminal wars.
The four Republican presidents since 1981 (Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump) increased the federal deficit by 94%, 67%, 1,204% and 317%, respectively. Twenty-five percent of America's debt was acquired during the Trump administration. President Biden decreased the deficit by 50% in his first fiscal year.
If not for the Reagan, Bush, and Trump tax cuts for billionaires and the two wars George W. Bush lied us into, our national debt would today be zero instead of over $30 trillion.

Quarterly filings from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the QAnon Bitch, show that the Georgia Republican received only six donations from her constituents in the 14th congressional district, totaling a pathetic $2,300.
Arizonans actually donated more to Greene — a whopping $17,300. Oh, wow!

Raw Story reported that former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders' first 100 days as the new governor of Arkansas was a portrait of "embarrassing" social media "fumbles" and a concerted effort to hurt poor people in her state.

Trump will never again be president of the U.S.
Raw Story reported that Washington lawyer George Conway spoke to CNN's Jim Acosta yesterday about a number of problems that Trump is facing.
Acosta asked about Trump being photographed hugging a woman that was sent to jail for her role in the Jan. 6 attack. He went on to sign the backpack she carried with her that day.
"I'm really at a loss for words whenever he does things like this — you think he's reached the bottom, and yet he seems somehow to dig himself deeper into the muck," said Conway. "I mean, this is just an absolute positive disgrace. He signed the woman's backpack like it was some kind of souvenir, the backpack she took to the insurrection at the Capitol. He's been promising for months that he's going to pardon all these people, hundreds of people who committed, you know, real crimes that they're being convicted for and being sentenced for in the District of Columbia, in the federal courts there. It's a complete and utter disgrace, and a disgrace that anybody could support a man who swore an oath to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States, who is the chief law enforcement officer of the United States in effect because he's charged with the executing of laws, praising and rewarding and promising to help these people who basically tried to stop the peaceful transfer of power. It is beyond disgraceful, and it is beyond disgraceful that more Republicans don't call him out for this."
